In my final project for the 3D printer I made a key chain that has my name in it with holes. This station was really fun but I would recommend following the tutorials it gives you when you first sign up. Over the few weeks I had this station I worked with the tools and practicing small prints to learn the tools to make a good final. I couldn’t figure out how to use some of the tools so I looked it up on you tube which really helped. Over all this station was pretty easy and a great way to start off my tech lab experience.

In my final project for Photoshop I made a fish swimming in a light bulb. I made this because it used many of the tools I used in my practices and I really like the beach and the ocean. In my final I learned how to create shadows, change the opacity, use the marquee tool, and look and only change certain parts of the layer. Another very important tool that I learned was that the on the erase tool the black erases but if you change it back  to white and rub it over the area you messed up it changes it back to the original. In Photoshop it is really hard to Undo so this helped lots since it was such tedious work.  My advice if you do this station is to watch tutorials or search how to use tools that you are not aware of. A video that help me better understand basic tools was https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqD851MIWVo. Some problems that I came across were not being able to use the paint bucket and my computer would also not let me “edit and then fill”. In order to fix these problems I restarted the program and luckily I was not to far into my project so I re started all of it. Photoshop is very useful and can be used to improve other stations such as digital photography. final

For my first project, I wanted to make an online poster. Doing this was fun, but it took some time to learn how to make it. Learning how to use all the tools was difficult. In order to succeed I spent a few weeks just focusing on the tools. This can benefit people because it will get a message across hat cyberbully should be stopped.

This photo is my favorite out of all the ones that I made. The photo was easy to make cause I knew what I wanted to do with it before I made it. The original had the regular windows vista logo with the windows vista logo. I used the selection tool to select the windows parts and placed images behind the original layer. Using the photoshop station you need to know what you want to do before you make it or the station is going to take some time.windowsvistahero

Photoshop Portraits September 22, 2016

For my first project I decided to expand some of my knowledge in Photoshop. I chose Photoshop because I wanted to learn how to edit some of my own photos using useful techniques and possibly use them in the future. I was really interested in learning skills that could help me create soft and dreamy portraits. For my final project, I decided to combine the skills I learned in one image. I blurred the background, filled and deleted objects, added a light overlay, changed the coloring, and masked a magpie flying through the image. If I were to do this again, I would want to spend more time learning about blending multiple images together for a more realistic look.  My advice for this station is to learn through tutorials and always edit with multiple layers, so if you make a mistake it’s easier to fix. Something that really helped me through this process was using the magnetic and quick selection tools. They were very useful when you wanted to add, change, or fill in part of the image. Overall, I thought Photoshop was great and the outcomes are satisfying when it was used well.img_3591

For my final project in Photoshop I combined three pictures together to make a fish swimming in a light bulb. I had many struggles with this project, but I like the turnout of what I made. The water in the light bulb could have been blended a bit better, but because of my frustration I did not want to move on. A tip I would give is to research all of the tools. This is very helpful in the long run because you have more options on what to use. I only had a brief understanding of each tool, and I stayed within my comfort zone throughout this whole station. If I were to do this project again, I would want to really understand the tools on Photoshop, and I would not let my frustration get to me. Mainly just know the tools and lots of tricks that you can use, because your end project would look better with a greater understanding of the app. This research gives you many more opportunities to do cool things because you know how to use each tool. Another tip I would give is to save all of your pictures to a flash drive. This  will insure that it does not get deleted. Photoshop can be a super fun and useful tool, but you just need to know how to use it correctly.

For my first project, I chose to do Photoshop. I chose Photoshop because I had a little bit of experience in the past, but really wanted to learn a lot more. For my final project, I made a wallpaper for my Chromebook that I really liked. Some tips I have for people doing this station is learn  the keyboard shortcuts. It makes things a lot easier and quicker. Also, if you are stuck, use tutorials to learn new skills.untitled-drawing

wallpaperFor my final project, I made a wallpaper for my Chromebook using the selection tool. Some advice I would give to anyone working on this station is to watch tutorials first. You can learn how to use different tools that will be helpful when making your projects. When looking at tutorials I recommend videos because they are easier to understand.

samantha-cheek-final-project-5As my first station I chose to do Photoshop. In my Photoshop project I was trying to accomplish how to change a photo by making it still looking realistic. I also wanted to learn how to add other pictures into the background picture. For my final project, I choose to have a rainbow as the background picture. My advice in the start is to have a picture that can have lots of things able to be added to it to make the picture more interesting. Another thing that I had a challenge with in this project was making the pictures look like they should be in the part of the picture. I overcame these things but choosing a picture that can have many things into the picture. Also, I overcame the second problem by using all the tools I knew how to us to make the quality of the picture better. Overall Photoshop was challenging depending on how challenging you make it on yourself. I learned a lot in this project and will hopefully use the skills in other classes or projects.

Photoshop is very challenging and has many different things you can do with it. When I was first thinking about my project I had no idea what I wanted to do with my final project. At first I just wanted to do photography and skip Photoshop but then when I realized what Photoshop was then I was very happy that I got the chance to do it. If I were to give advice to others I would say watch tutorials online before you even start to test with different ideas. Also think of different things that you are interested in because it is a lot easier to finish your project if you have things to work on that you are interested in. Overall this Photoshop station was very difficult but fun and helpful at the same time.
